https://publis-shs.univ-rouen.fr/eriac/1056.html Cette étude analyse la démarche méthodologique des étudiants de L3 LEA dans la traduction assistée par l’intelligence artificielle générative (IAG), à partir de leurs fiches réflexives et des observations de l’enseignante. L’accent est mis sur l’importance du raisonnement critique et de la méthodologie, davantage que sur le résultat final. Des compétences en méthodologie de traduction, en ingénierie des prompts et dans l’usage d’outils d’IAG sont mobilisées. L’IAG est perçue comme un assistant plutôt qu’un substitut, renforçant la réflexion et la validation humaine. Cette expérience confirme la nécessité de développer la littératie numérique et de distinguer compétences traductives et technologiques. Ces résultats s’inscrivent dans une réflexion sur l’usage de l’IA en traduction spécialisée, en proposant des critères d’évaluation adaptés et en mettant en lumière les défis que pose l’évaluation à l’ère de l’IA. This study analyzes the methodological approach adopted by third-year undergraduate students in Applied Foreign Languages during a translation activity assisted by generative artificial intelligence (GAI). The analysis is based on student reflection sheets and teacher observations. Emphasis is placed on critical reasoning and translation methodology rather than the final output. The activity mobilizes skills in translation methodology, prompt engineering, and the use of GAI tools. GAI is perceived as a support rather than a substitute, enhancing human reflection and validation. This experience underscores the need to develop digital literacy and to distinguish between translational and technological competencies. The findings contribute to the ongoing reflection on the integration of AI in specialized translation by proposing adapted evaluation criteria and highlighting the challenges of assessment in the age of AI.
